Truck size and weight (TSW) policy has been of significant interest to U.S. state governments and the trucking industry in order to improve trucking productivity and enhance competitiveness internationally and with jurisdictions that have higher TSW limits, while, at the same time, not adversely affecting safety to the truck operators and other motorists. MORR Transportation Consulting Ltd., alongside CDM Smith, conducted a comprehensive study on the impact of changes to truck size and weight restrictions in the U.S.A. relating to highway safety, pavements, bridge structures, modal shift, and vehicles compliance.
