MORR Transportation Consulting Ltd. developed and delivered a course on Data Governance for Performance-Based Decision Making in Transportation. Considering data as an asset has compelled some transportation agencies to extend performance-based asset management practices normally applied to physical assets to data assets. The course was intended to provide transportation engineering managers with fundamental knowledge on data governance for improved delivery of transportation services. Effective data governance is increasingly important to meet the objectives of transparency, accountability, and security, and as the need for big data emerges.
